It’s all about pain
PAIN-a simple four letter word yet it can be the reason for our fall. Pain can be endured physically or emotionally. But whichever pain we feel, it always boils down to one thing, IT HURTS.
When can we say we’re in pain? Is it when tears fall down on our very cheeks? Is it when we suffer sleepless nights? Is it when we are depressed? Or is it when we tend to feel alone and sad?
We feel pain when we reach a point when we realize that things did not go the way we wished it would be. It is when we discover that we have let ourselves down. It is when we have come to our senses and learned that we have ventured on something and expected too much in return. It is when we come to our knowledge that something failed. May it be a relationship, our studies, our dreams or anything that we allowed ourselves to focus on.
As soon as we have realized these, we then tend to cry our hearts out just to let go of the pain. We then give ourselves the key to sleepless nights and unwanted eye bags on the morning after. We then welcome ourselves to the common feelings of depression, loneliness and sadness. Then, we begin to wonder why. We begin to ask ourselves the usual “what if?” questions. Eventually, we regret on the things we have done then we sit alone and wonder how we got the very nerve of exposing ourselves to the excruciating pain.
Funny how we, people, act sometimes, we blame ourselves for being hurt or worse; we blame others for the pain we feel. We always hate pain and always see to it that we keep ourselves away. We always don’t want to be hurt. But little did we know that pain does not mean to hurt us. Pain instead finds a way to teach us something. Something we thought was right was actually wrong. Something we thought we could win, ends up losing the fight. Something we thought we can have was actually meant to belong to someone else’s hands.
Pain isn’t really bad at all. Pain helps us realize that not all the things we want are always given, not all the battles we fight we can win and not all the decisions we make are correct. Sometimes, before we blame “poor pain” for everything, why not let ourselves sit back and realize things? If it weren’t for pain, how will we know we’re stronger than we think we are? How will we know that we can always surpass the challenges in stored for us? How will we know we are wrong? Lastly, how will we learn if everything goes our way? Pain, yes, it does hurt. Yes, it makes you cry. Yes, it lets you suffer. But the hurt we endure from pain will surely make us a better and stronger person. So why sulk down and do nothing when we can always treat pain the other way around? Let’s stop crying and blabbing out how much we hate pain. Rather, let’s start smiling and treat pain as a blessing in disguise. Let’s not forget to smile, for in smiling, healing always starts. That’s why let’s start living because we don’t know how much time we waste on bickering about pain. Always remember that, if love conquers all, pain, on the other hand molds us into someone we thought we won’t be. And the scars we get from pain? Worry no more if it leaves a unique unwanted mark. Let it be that way for it is always an attestation that we have surpassed the trials in life. It signifies that we got through the battles being handed down to us by fate. Bear in mind that the scars aren’t marks of the end. Rather, the scars mark the beginning of something more beautiful. Something more worthy.

This was right on the money. I hardly ever took the time to stop and think about what my pain was a reflection of. I always immediately associated it with heartbreak and disappointment but I never ventured in to the depths of just want I was heartbroken or disappointed about and how it would eventually affect me, in general. This was quite the eye-opener and a wonderful read. Thank you! ..Hope you don’t mind if I add you to my blogroll; would most definately love to keep up with your work!
